Between two different E36 vehicles (My off-road rally car and my turbocharged E36 sedan) I have replaced 5 of the factory aluminum transmission cross-members. One performance shop we spoke with said they have replaced more than 100 aluminum cross-members over the years on BMW E36 cars.
Needless to say, when you break a transmission cross-member while at full throttle, it can be a scary experience.
To end this problem once and for all, we now offer a steel replacement transmission brace to replace the factory aluminum piece found on all E36 cars with the ZF 5-speed manual transmission. Models which will benefit from this bullet-proof piece;

The part is black powder coated for good looks and rust protection. Laser cut, CNC Bent, TIG Welded for factory fit and high strength.
To back up our claims that this transmission brace will not break like the aluminum piece, we are offering a Limited Lifetime Warranty on this part. If our transmission brace ever fails during use, return the part to us and we will replace it free of charge!
