The BMW transmission pivot pin is also known as the clutch release lever ball pin or clutch fork lever pin. It is a one time use component that needs to be replaced during a clutch fork or clutch release bearing removal. Or at least, that's how the factory design is. The original plastic pin always end up failing, this stainless steel version is an upgrade that won't. Do it once, do it right.
Do I need to replace my pivot pin?
If you plan on taking out your transmission, you should definitely upgrade it while you're there. Installing a new factory pivot pin is leaving a major issue unaddressed. For the price of two plastic pins, you can put in this stainless steel version that can be used unlimited times.
Does this fit my car?
This pin fits all E36, E46, E82, E87, E90 and E92. For your information, it replaces OEM part number 21511223328.
