BMW E36 / E46 RTAB Variable toe monoball (pair)

The rear trailing arm bushings, most commonly known as RTABs, are the first bushings to wear in the trailing arms. They play an important role in your toe alingment. You can tell the trailing arm bushings are shot when the tire wear is uneven, clonk noises are coming out of the trailing arm or when the rear end feels unpredictable.

This kit replaces, and upgrades the RTABs to a monoball bushing that is also adjustable.

Why would I need additonal toe adjustment?

Both the E36 and E46 rear suspension is made so that the alignment toes out when it's lowered. You will eventually be lowered to a point where the factory adjustment can't bring the alignment at 0 toe. You reach between 4 to 5mm of toe-in with the additonal range of adjustment that this kit provides.

How does the adjustment work? Both the center and inner sleeves are offsetted.

The larger lip on the outer sleeve (aluminium), increases toe-in adjustment when placed inboard. The center sleeve also increases toe-in adjustment when placed inboard. You can install both parts in-board or out-board, seperately, in order to play with your toe. We have designed this kit to allow the driver to bring his rear wheels at a toe-in adjustment, or at 0 toe. Both are very desirable set-ups that the factory adjustment does not allow, when lowered to a certain extent.

I plan on doing track days, is this good enough?

This kit is designed to get the most out of the rear trailing arm suspension. Our monoball design allows a full articulation of the rear trailing arms. It is ideal for track days.

Why Tech-53?

We use an OE monoball bushing inside our cups. Unlike most aftermarket spherical bearings, they are sealed with a rubber boot. It is much more durable, and doesn't require any maintenance or cleaning. On top of that, our 6061-T6 aluminium cups and our adjustment sleeves are covered with lifetime warranty.

Does it fit my car?

 Fits all BMW E46 Fits all BMW E36 except compact models (Ti). In order to help the toe adjustment, we suggest you install this kit like pictured, so that the offset part faces the outside of your car.
