Drift Wisconsinibly by Over-steer

Come hang out with us on Friday, October 17 for a chill, seat-time-focused drift day at the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America.

This is a low-key event built around getting laps in, driving with your friends, and enjoying the track on one of the Midwest’s most iconic kart circuits. We’re keeping it tight with an application process with slots for 40–60 drivers, so everyone gets plenty of time on course. 


What to Expect:

  • Relaxed, seat-time-heavy drift day

  • 40–60 driver cap

  • Grassroots and experienced drivers welcome

Event Schedule:

  • 8:00 AM – Load in

  • 9:00 AM – Drivers meeting (mandatory)

  • 9:30 AM – Hot track

  • 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Lunch break

  • 1:00 PM - Drivers meeting (mandatory)

  • 1:30 – 5:00 PM – Hot track resumes

  • 5:00 – 6:30 PM – Clean up and load out

Be on time. Late arrivals may miss the drivers meeting and won’t be allowed on track.

Rules will be posted at the bottom of the page, along with driver and media applications. If you want to drive or shoot, be sure to apply — we want to make sure everyone stays safe and keep the experience great for everyone. Tickets will be made available to approved drivers.


Whether you’re dialing in your setup, shaking down a new build, or just out to shred with friends — this day is all about clean runs, good energy, and a solid community atmosphere.

2025 OVER-STEER DRIFT DAY RULE BOOK

GENERAL RULES FOR STAFF, DRIVERS, MEDIA, AND RIDERS:

  • Event will take place rain or shine - come prepared
  • Tickets are only transferable to other drivers who become approved - contact our support team
  • There are no refunds for this event
  • Follow and abide by Road America’s policies and rules: https://www.roadamerica.com/general-rules 
  • Closed toed shoes & long pants in car
  • The use of any narcotic, controlled substance, and/or recreational drugs, as defined by federal and/or state law, by any participant, is expressly prohibited, even if prescribed by a licensed physician. Consumption of alcoholic beverages shall not commence until all official functions of a specific series or event have been completed. If caught will be escorted off the premises without refund
  • There are no scooters, skateboards or pit vehicles allowed - check Road americas pit rules

DRIVERS & TECH REQUIREMENTS:

  • Drivers must apply to the event beforehand
  • You CANNOT drive without approval through tech inspection
  • Any person(s) without the designation as a driver is not allowed to drift the course
  • SA-2015 minimum approved helmet, We Will be checking.
  • (no bicycle helmets)
  • Helmets at minimum must cover face cheeks, no bucket hats allowed
  • Seat belt and seats must be securely fastened and properly mounted
  • Helmets and seat belts must be fastened and on while on grid and on track at all times
  • No leaking fluid
  • No loose items inside the vehicle
  • No loose engine or suspension parts
  • Battery must be tied down with both terminals covered
  • Firm brake pedal and working brake lamp is required
  • Night/rainy/after dusk events require working brake and headlights
  • Windshield must be clear for driver to see through and be free of major defects
  • Coolant overflow tank required
  • Cooling system must be glycol, aka coolant, free (water or water and water wetter additive only)
  • All fluids should have some form of drip protection (coolant overflow, power steering reservoir, brake and clutch master) i.e.: socks, armband, etc.
  • All lug nuts must be installed and engage a minimum of 4 threads of the wheel studs
  • Front and rear tow options must be present in or on the vehicle at all times (including tools to access or install tow hooks)
  • Vehicle MUST have fire extinguisher securely mounted in an accessible location
  • Drivers to maintain a 5 mph speed limit in pits and cold track areas
  • All body parts to remain inside the vehicle at all times
  • Follow track rules -  Drivers must keep off the grass. If the situation is uncontrollable, do NOT lock your brakes when driving into areas of grass. Please roll to a stop
  • If you are caught 3 wheels off in the dirt and staying on throttle, you will be done for that session.
  • There is a 3 strike policy for dirt drops. Driver will be done for the day after 3rd dirt drop and will be charged $250.

TANDEMS:

  • All participants must agree to tandem
  • Staff has the right to deny tandem with any driver
  • Roll cage is Required for all tandems 
  • No line jumping - must grid together in single file line

MEDIA

  • Anyone who has media privileges must have media pass and be clearly identifiable (ie: yellow vest, etc)
  • If media puts themselves, drivers, and/or bystanders at risk media privileges will be revoked 
  • Media personnel are only allowed to stand in Approved areas, areas will be decided based on track layout

RIDE-ALONGS

  • Ride-alongs are allowed during designated time(s), which are announced during the driver's meeting
  • Passengers must be at least 18 years old
  • DOT approved helmet must be worn and fastened at all times
  • (no bicycle helmets)
  • Helmets at minimum must cover face cheeks, no bucket hats allowed
  •  Close toed shoes and long pants
  • All body parts to remain inside the vehicle at all times
  • All occupants must have a working and properly fastened seat belt and seat
  • Passengers cannot walk on or off track for ride-alongs - driver must pick-up and drop-off in pits
  • Riders are NOT allowed to walk across the track while the track is hot
  • Spectators are not allowed on track
  • Ride-along is at driver’s discretion

WHEN ON TRACK

  • Spectators are not allowed on track
  • All body parts must remain in the vehicle
  • If the vehicle fails on track, do not attempt to diagnose and fix the problem on track. If needed, push it back into the pits or wait for tow - event staff will help coordinate as necessary
  • Driver must shut down drift where the designated course has ended, do not drive aggressively thereafter
  •  Follow track rules -  Drivers must keep off the grass. If the situation is uncontrollable, do NOT lock your brakes when driving into areas of grass. Please roll to a stop.
  • There is a 3 strike policy for dirt drops. Driver will be done for the day after 3rd dirt drop and charged a $250 fee

FAILURE TO ABIDE BY ABOVE RULES WILL RESULT IN REMOVAL FROM EVENT WITHOUT REFUND
